Aim High

Don't just comply

There’s the law. And then there’s the spirit of the law. You can comply with the minimum requirements of the law, or go the extra mile and attain the highest ethical standards.

Mere compliance can absolve you of wrongdoing in court—whereas operating with the highest ethical standards might eliminate the need to go to court in the first place.

When we consistently operate according to the spirit of the law—at the highest ethical standards—customers will forgive a mistake (it’s only human). And when we take action on an acknowledged mistake, forgiveness turns to customer loyalty, which appears on the bottom-line.

The Professional Association for Compliance and Ethics—PACE—helps its clients aim for the highest ethical standards, rather than merely comply with the minimum regulatory requirements. With education and certification for all customer-facing personal, as well as those who handle customer information, PACE offers an integrated approach to managing risk in automotive dealerships.

At PACE-certified dealerships, associates perform as consultants to their customers, building a bond designed to turn the customer into an “advocate” of both the dealership and the brand. Because of the way they are treated, advocates will go out of their way to do business with a dealership, and become vocal fans of the dealership and the nameplate—which builds repeat and referral business, and provides for greater growth and profitability.

At PACE, we make the highest level of ethical behavior a reality in the world of automotive retail. We go beyond merely stating what the law requires. We interpret federal regulations, and then apply those regulations to the dealership through easy-to-use online learning, we teach employees how to incorporate regulatory requirements into their day-to-day processes in ways that also enable them to remain profitable.

But beyond the requirements of the law, PACE offers training in ethical decision-making on the job. We help employees understand the impact of questionable sales techniques that, in most cases, have no malicious intent, but have simply become customary. With guidelines for specific job titles, PACE help employees do their part to improve the image of our industry—one customer at a time.
